After extremely long days and nights filled with grief and tears, we finally got some good news today. Avery is being moved out of pediatric ICU and into a regular room. Her surgery last night went as smooth as possible and she is improving by the hour. The swelling in her cheeks and eyes has gone down and she has stayed stable. She hasn't awakened yet but she is rustling around alot. She will eventually be moved to The Children's Center Hospital in Bethany for her rehabilitation. This morning the doctor said that if there was a room available, he would release her as soon as tomorrow but we may have to wait a few days or more for a room.

As for the family, we are in the process of moving out of our temporary commune (the waiting room outside of PICU). We will probably need a uhaul because of all of the food and drinks and things that have been brought to us. Everyone has been so amazing and we really feel blessed to have so many people that care.

Also, there is going to be a benefit concert on Sunday at the downtown farmer's market. It will last from 12-8pm and admission is $5. All of the proceeds will go to Adam and Avery's fund.

We will keep you updated as often as possible.

  1. Been praying for you since I saw the news on Friday night. One of the police officers on the scene is a father in our homeschool group. How my heart breaks for you. We lost our two year old to a freak accident 18 months ago. I know what you felt on Friday. I know what you are feeling today, and I know what you are going to be feeling tomorrow. I want you to know that God will see you through this. He is not surprised by what happened on Friday night. Your baby is sitting in the arms of our Father and for now that may be your only comfort. You are in my heart and my prayers.

  2. I am a single mom with 3 kids at home and I can only imagine the true emotion you are feeling in this unbearable tragedy. I though I was going to lose my son in the summer of 2008 when he was with his father during a summer visit. He was the 6 and his dad let him ride a small motorcycle alone, never been on one before and had just learned to ride his bike without training wheels by only a few months. I knew nothing of the accident for 2 weeks until I got him back with many cuts and bruises still from the accident. I was furious but most importantly I took him to the ER anyhow to have a thorough check done on him. You must find comfort in this challenging time to find comfort in Christ and knowing that Adam knew HIM before he parted this world. Your family is in prayer through many prayer chains and churches in vast numbers across the country. May God comfort you and strengthen you during your time of pain and grief. We love you and are praying for you!!!

  3. Just a note -- The benefit concert is Sunday, not Saturday.
